This device was designed by Reuben Margoliash in Glencoe, Illinois in 2014 at a cost of over $400,000 plus approximately $400,000 in research and design.
This device is unique in two ways. The first is that the handle can be easily reconfigured to multiple positions, pistol grip, intermediate and inline with a simple push button without having to remove from the patient or change instruments.
The second is that the surgical tools such as scissors, graspers, and needle holders can be interchanged without removing the surgical instrument from the patient. This is made possible by use of a tool drum that the shafts with surgical tools can be passed through.
This sale is for the patent rights only. The asset is prerevenue and has not been mass produced.
