Nov 3, 2018 — The 1223 MW combined-cycle gas-fired power plant is located in Kasur district of Punjab, Pakistan. The plant started commercial operation in July,2018 and generates the equivalent power needed to supply more than six million Pakistani homes. Plant Signed power purchase agreement for 30 years at reference tariff of USc 6.12/kWh for RLNG and USc9.612/kWh for HSD with central Power Purchasing authority.
The power plant consist of two GE H-class 9HA.01 gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine. The gas turbines are air-cooled and have high-reliability and efficiency thereby being cost-effective in converting fuel to electricity. Additional facilities of the plant include a primary re-gasified liquid natural gas fuel system, a secondary diesel fuel system, water cooled condensers and a cooling tower. The plant is fitted with selective catalytic reduction (SCR)-based nitrogen oxide system in order to control nitrogen oxide emissions and improve efficiency.
The turbine combustion system provides dual fuel capability with R-LNG being the primary fuel, while high-speed diesel serves as the backup fuel. In an RLNG fired combined cycle operation, the plant has an efficiency of greater than 61%.
